Excessive caffeine or alcohol consumption can also cause hemroids, as both deplete the body of water. Caffeine has two strikes against it in the fight to prevent hemroids. How come? Because caffeine also causes the blood pressure to spike and large amounts over prolonged periods will certainly aid and abet in an elevated BP.
Hemroids have been nicknamed an affliction of affluence because they are far more common in developed urban societies than rural regions. This increased incidence of hemroids in affluent societies is partly due to the overabundance of processed foods that are low in fiber and the all too familiar toilet seat.
