You Are King Of The Web With Lots Of Web Traffic
For the longest time I have had the strong belief and have not been shy in sharing said belief that web traffic is the most important and crucial element to the success of any and every internet business.
You may have heard of the maxim that web traffic is the lifeblood of any internet business, well if you have it is probably because of my zeal to spread the word but also more importantly because it is true! As far as I am concerned a good flow of online traffic is the cornerstone of success to any online business that intends to actually make money.
Okay if web traffic is indeed as truly important as made out to be with respect to the existence of a successful internet business what actually makes it so?
Well we know that web traffic is a euphemism for visitors who deign to grace your online store. If nobody visits your store then obviously you won’t make money at all because you are making no sales or whatever it is that you are doing (or perhaps more aptly put, hoping to do) to get money!
Let’s go a step further and consider an offline scenario. In such a scenario your non profitable website or blog would be akin to a store that is located far from the beaten path; in other words your store is situated in a less than desirable location whereby only the occasional visitor (if that at all) stumbles upon it.
Because so few people ever come across your store you can never really make money; besides of those infrequent visitors who stumble across your ill-located store not all of them will but whatever you are peddling!
Okay let’s look at scenario number 2 which describes a store (or building) that is located on the corner of two extremely busy streets. For the best part of the year those two streets are bustling with tourists and even of the tourist off-peak seasons those streets are crowded with locals.
You can bet that the owner of such a store is paying a premium for rent but they don’t mind because the location of their store means they are sitting on a goldmine! They have so many people traipsing in and out of their store all day long, and seeing that most of their clientele are tourists 99% of the time they make a sale!
The online equivalent of the second store scenario is a strategically located website/blog (translate strategic as meaning being located on Page One of Google for a high-traffic volume and very competitive, as well as ultra-targeted keyword) that gets lots of web traffic. The fact that the offline store is located where tourists go would translate into a blogmaster who has done their due diligence as far as keyword research is concerned and have been rewarded with securing the page one location on Google of their blog for a keyword that sends a lot of web traffic that converts into sales!
I guess by now you are beginning to appreciate just how important web traffic is if you wish to make money online. The simple truth is that when you have lots of web traffic you are king!
What You Can Do With Lots of Web Traffic
So what can one do with a website that gets a lot of web traffic? Well consider the following scenarios as a way to make money on the glorious day that you start to get a flood of web traffic:
1. With a lot of web traffic you will never lack for people striving to pay you good money to advertise their wares on your blog or website. Such advertising is most commonly in the form of a banner, but it really does not matter the form of the advertising, what matters is that whether the advertiser makes money from his/her AD on your site or not you will still get paid! It’s a win-win situation for you.
Once their contract is up the advertiser has the option to renew it; if they decline to renew it no matter because there are plenty of desperate fish out there who are just waiting for the opportunity to toss good money your way just so that they can benefit from a slice of your blog’s web traffic!
2. Another way or method with which you can make money online once you begin to get lots of web traffic is by selling your own product; but if you don’t want to go through the hassles of creating your own product then you can go the easy route of affiliate marketing and merely promote somebody else’s product and wait for the commissions to ka-ching day-in-day-out! Once again this would only be possible if your blog is getting web traffic in large amounts!
3. Another way with which you can monetize your oodles of web traffic is by slapping up Google Adsense Ads or the such like on your blog. Now as far as I am concerned this should be a last resort and only a stop-gap measure or temporary situation while your consolidate other options. Why the last resort?
Well unless you are getting web traffic to the tune of several hundreds of thousands to the millions per month you are never going to make any worthwhile money from Adsense; and that’s the plain truth! Besides most people seem to avoid Adsense Ads like the plague and then when they do actually click on the AD you get paid cents! CENTS! Can you imagine that?
It makes far more sense to direct your hard earned web traffic to an affiliate link that translates into $25 - $50 every time a visitor from your blog purchases whatever the merchant is peddling.
Anyway so there you have it…when you get a lot of web traffic the web is your oyster!
